Do you ever find yourself searching for something that drives you, motivates you, and brings you a sense of purpose and fulfillment? If so, you're not alone. Many of us struggle to find that one thing that we can be truly obsessed with, something that we can pour our heart and soul into. Something that fills us each day with positivity and just adds value to our lives. Over the last couple of years, I’ve been on a personal growth journey.

I have no idea what started it; maybe it was the fact that I turned 40 this year, or that my kids were no longer babies/toddlers, or maybe it was the fact that I just noticed time slipping away so quickly. Whatever the reason, it has driven me to work on myself and become the best version of myself for ME and of course, my family.

In this blog post, I want to share some tips and strategies for finding your healthy obsession. I’ve gathered much of this from diving into self-help books. I’m OBSESSED with books that focus on mindset and habits. As someone who has struggled with anxiety my entire life, yes, even as a child - I have come to realize that a healthy mindset, healthy habits (exercise), and a solid routine are the best ways to manage your anxiety at any stage of life.

1. Identify your values

The first step in finding your healthy obsession is to identify your values. What's important to you? What do you value in life? What makes you feel alive and energized? For example, if you value physical health, you might consider finding an activity that you enjoy that also helps you to stay fit. Make a list of your passions and see if there are any common themes.

2. Try new things

You never know what you might be passionate about until you try it. Trying new things is a great way to explore different interests and find something that you truly enjoy. Take a class, join a club, or sign up for a workshop. You might discover a new hobby or interest that you never knew existed.

3. Experiment

Once you've identified your passions, start experimenting with different activities related to them. Try new things and see what resonates with you the most. For example, if you're passionate about fitness, try different types of workouts like running, yoga, or weightlifting.

4. Embrace your strengths

We all have strengths and talents that we can use to fuel our passions. Embrace your strengths and think about how you can use them to pursue a healthy obsession. For example, if you're a great communicator, you might consider starting a blog or podcast on a topic that you're passionate about.

5. Find balance

While it's important to be passionate about something, it's also important to find balance. Don't let your obsession consume your life to the point where it becomes unhealthy. Remember, this obsession is something that is supposed to bring you joy and light you up!

Here’s some tips on pursuing a healthy obsession:

  1. You can commit to it daily for 20-30 min.

  2. It’s a solo mission. You’re strong and independent and can accomplish great things!

  3. It adds value to your life - mentally, physically, or spiritually.

  4. There’s room for growth & improvement.

  5. It just makes you feel GOOD!

Remember, a healthy obsession is something that brings us joy, fulfillment, and a sense of purpose. It's something we can't stop thinking about, and we put in the effort to achieve it. A healthy obsession can be a great way to improve our mental and physical health, boost our productivity, and help us achieve our goals. So find what inspires you and keeps you wanting more, then dive in!

All the best,
